Background

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has been identified as one of the seven priority areas of SEAMEO Education Agenda for development in Southeast Asia, which were agreed at the Strategic Dialogue of Education Ministers (SDEM) meeting in September 2014.
According to the 2nd High Officials Meeting (HOM) on SEA-TVET in Bali, May 2016, and the 3rd HOM on SEA-TVET in Kuala Lumpur in May 2017 highlighted the regional strategies to improve 21st skills, global competitiveness, innovative and creativity of TVET students. Besides the issues of creative industry, industry 4.0, digital careers and trends of future work were recommended to be integrated in TVET education for preparing our Southeast Asian youths with advanced knowledge and skills which are necessary for future careers in globalisation.
In response to the above regional policy directions and recommendations from the high officials’ meetings, the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organizations (SEAMEO) in cooperation with Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia and SEAMEO Centres have organised the following SEA-Creative Camp in 2018.

1st SEA Creative Camp “Future Careers for Youths”: Feb-May 2018
Supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia, the 7 online courses conducted successfully during February-May 2018 with approximately 5,197 participants or 1,507 teams from 452 schools in 7 countries, namely, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, China, and India.

2nd Creative Camp “Future Careers for Youths”: May-August 2018
The SEAMEO Secretariat in collaboration with SEAMEO Regional Centres, conducted the 2nd Phase of SEA Creative Camp during May-August 2018 for high schools/colleges/universities students (15-21 years old) and teachers in Southeast Asia and beyond.

To leverage the capacity of winners and develop partnership among schools, the winning schools of the 1st phrase were invited to deliver the trainings and lectures at this 2nd Phrase Online Workshops. There were approximately 1,115 students, 207 teachers from 208 schools in 4 countries, namely, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand participated in the 2nd SEA Creative Camp.

3rd SEA Creative Camp “Future Careers for Youths: Integration with Entrepreneurship”
SEAMEO Secretariat in collaboration with SEAMEO Regional Centres, Ministry of Education and Culture and Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia will organise the 3rd SEA Creative Camp “Future Careers for Youth: Integration with Entrepreneurship” during September 2018- January 2019. The programme will be launched for registration in August- September 2018

Objectives of the SEA Creative Camp
a) To provide intermediate-advanced technical and vocational knowledge and skills in areas of advanced technology, entrepreneurship and competencies to students and teachers in Southeast Asia
b) To promote global competitiveness, and 21st century, and entrepreneurial skills of students required for their future careers
c) To encourage creativity and share ideas/practices and innovative projects among the participants
d) To establish career networking platforms among the specialised group of youths/students/teachers.

Participants:
It is expected that the SEA Creative Camp will be participated by high school, TVET, and university students and teachers but the age of students must be between 15-21 years old from the Southeast Asian countries, namely, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Timor Leste, and Vietnam. However, the participation from other countries beyond Southeast Asia is welcomed.

Requirements for participants in the SEA Creative Camp:
• Registration must be applied by a team of students with name of teachers (Please check details of each workshop for the maximum number of teachers and students in each team)
• Each school/college can send maximum of 15 teams per 1 workshop.
• 15-21 years old students who study in secondary school, non-formal education, TVET schools/colleges/ polytechnics, and universities
• Good command in English communication
• Participants should have minimum knowledge and skills as required by each workshop.
• Participants should be able to attend workshop through Webex online system and be able to review the sessions which the participants cannot attend.

 
Workshop Registration

No registration fee to participate The registration should be proceeded by each team 1 team consists of 1 teacher and students (please check details of team members of each workshop)

Workshop Sessions

Each online workshop by using WEBEX will be conducted for at least 8 sessions (or 2 hours per a session), in total 16 hours during September-November 2018. (Please check training schedule of each workshop)

Final Assignments

At the end of training, each team will have about 3-5 weeks to develop a final project assignment, integrating with entrepreneurship

eCertificate Distribution

Attendance of the participants in each workshop will not be considered. Certificate of Completion will be provided after receiving the final project assignment from each team.

For the current 3rd Batch of SEA Creative Camp, we are opening 12 Online Workshops which emphasize the emerging technologies in the world with hope that this will be useful for future careers in Southeast Asia and beyond

Applied Robotics

• To make some learning media from robotic technology
• To improve the current robotic technology to become more innovative robot

Augmented Reality

Through this online training, the participants are expected to understand the process to develop Augmented Reality application and storybook. They will be able to create an Augmented Reality Storybook with STEM education theme (Integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths).

Fashion Design

Through the provided online training, the potential participants are expected to understand to create a concept, design, fabric / textile, color schemes, fashion trend forecasting, make up, a fashion collection, and realization of imaging designs into garments, marketing and sewing aspects will be followed to the next stage.

Game Development

Through this online training, the participants are expected to be able to develop various genres of game which is embedded with learning objective. So the participants can also develop students 21st century skill and theirs cognitive skill using game as learning media.

Healthy Canteen

Through this online training, the participants are expected to understand the role of school canteen, understand the indicators of Healthy Canteen and able to establish Healthy Canteen in their schools.

There are some objectives that participants can reach by joining this online workshop:

Tourism Promotion

This course will provide you with the knowledge and techniques to enable you to create a basic video to promote touristic attractions, locations and events by making use of your available gadgets and equipments. It will also introduce you to the effective ways in promoting tourism video via social media, as a part of digital marketing.

Urban Agriculture

This online training course aims to enhance the awareness and understanding of target participants on the basic concepts of urban agriculture, and provide them with working knowledge on several urban agriculture technologies that could be implemented according to their existing local condition and environment.

Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality is a technology that allows for simulation-based learning and virtual exploration. Students will gain experience in understanding and learning with elements for creating Virtual Reality media. At the end, students will be able to design virtual reality applications, to master visual (3D) editing software, and to develop programming logic on assets that have been designed.
